Loans
Whether you're exploring federal loans, considering private loans, or seeking advice on loan management, our goal is to support you in making informed decisions that align with your educational and financial goals.
Federal Loans
Federal student loans are funded by the government and offer fixed interest rates, income-driven repayment plans, and loan forgiveness options. At USCA, we participate in the Federal Direct Loan Program, which includes:
- Direct Subsidized Loans for undergraduate students with financial need, where the government pays the interest while you're in school.
- Direct Unsubsidized Loans for undergraduate and graduate students, where interest accrues while in school.
- Direct PLUS Loans for graduate students and parents of dependent undergraduates, which cover educational expenses not met by other financial aid.

Private Loans
Private student loans are provided by banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions. They can fill the gap between federal loans and the cost of education. It's important to compare rates, terms, and repayment options to choose what best fits your needs.

Applying for Student Loans
- Complete the FAFSA: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is your first step. It determines your eligibility for federal loans, grants, and work-study programs.
- Review Your Financial Aid Offer: After submitting your FAFSA, you'll receive a financial aid offer from USCA. This will detail the types and amounts of loans you're eligible for.
- Choose Your Loans: Decide which loans you want to accept and how much you need, keeping in mind to borrow only what's necessary.
Managing Your Loans
- Stay Informed: Keep track of your loan amounts, lender details, and repayment status.
- Understand Repayment: Explore repayment plans and consider setting up automatic payments to avoid late fees.
- Seek Help if Needed: If you're facing financial difficulties, options like deferment, forbearance, or loan forgiveness may be available.
