Mechanical Engineering student interns at Club Car, Rolls-Royce

Molly Lindsey, a senior at USCA, is currently an intern at Rolls Royce in Aiken.
Molly Lindsey, a senior at the University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA), is pursuing her lifelong goal of becoming an engineer and graduating with a mechanical engineering degree. For the past two years, she has been fine-tuning her skills through her internships and is well on her way to achieving her dream of automotive engineering.
Lindsey recently completed a year-long internship with Club Car, working with their industrial engineering team on process flow mapping and material flow. She also had the opportunity to see the opening of a new plant in Appling, Georgia.
Club Car Manufactures compact vehicles tailored for golf, personal, and commercial purposes. “A lot of engineering is improving stuff that is already done but there, we got to start from scratch,” Lindsey said.
This summer, she immersed herself in quality and process improvement at Rolls Royce in Aiken. She is part of a dedicated team that helps to enhance the engine creation process, increase productivity, and resolve recurring issues.
Lindsey landed both of her internships through connections at USCA. She knows that to be successful in the engineering field, students must find internship and job shadowing opportunities while in school. She testifies that her internships have been a stepping stone, providing her with the assurance and skillset to navigate the world of engineering.
