USCA invites the community to participate in the annual Haunted Hike on campus, scheduled for Oct. 23, from 7 – 10 p.m.

“The Haunted Hike is a great bridge between the campus and community and offers the opportunity to experience a different, fun form of entertainment during the Halloween season in Aiken,” said Logan Sharpe, assistant director of student leadership and engagement.

Families are encouraged to attend, but due to the type of scenes that will be incorporated into the Halloween-themed nature trail, Sharpe recommends patrons are at least 5 years of age. This year’s event will include vampires and other traditional haunted house-style scenes.

Each year, members of the student body volunteer to create and work along the Haunted Hike.

While the event offers annual fun, it also serves as a community service project for USC Aiken students.  Donations of non-perishable food items, at least one per person, are requested as admission to the event.  All food collected will be donated to Golden Harvest Food Bank.

“One in six people in our area struggle with hunger. My hope is to have the biggest turnout yet for the Haunted Hike so that we can maximize the impact these donations will have on our community.” Sharpe said.

In lieu of canned goods, patrons can pay $1 for admission.  Any money collected will be invested in programs for students.

Patrons are asked to park in Lot B located directly in front of the USCA Children’s Center.
