Several USCA seniors volunteered to join a new alumni initiative known as Reins of Legacy.

“The Reins of Legacy is USCA’s senior class giving initiative that establishes a tradition of giving to the university,” said Carmen Williams, USCA ’10, who serves as director of alumni relations.

“By joining the Reins of Legacy, you show past, present, and future Pacers that USCA made a difference in your life and now you want to make a difference in the lives of others.”

For $25 any graduating senior can join Reins of Legacy, which includes membership in the USCA Alumni Association with full benefits.

Williams said the name Reins of Legacy was chosen intentionally.

“It represents a powerful idea, that as you prepare to graduate, you are not just stepping into the future, you are taking control of it. Much like taking the reins of a horse, you now hold the direction, the momentum, and the purpose of your journey in your own hands,” Williams said to the group’s inaugural cohort during an induction ceremony, Nov. 12.

“But it doesn't stop there. Legacy is not just about where you're headed; it’s about what you leave behind. By joining this giving society, you are ensuring that the path remains open for those who follow. You’re creating opportunities, shaping experiences and becoming part of something that lasts far beyond your time on campus.”
