The Martin Luther King Jr. Planning Committee has opened nominations for the Human and Civil Rights Champion Awards.  

These awards honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to human and civil rights through their work and community service. Awards will be presented to: one Aiken County community member, one student from Aiken Technical College (Aiken Tech) and one student from the University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA).  

Nominations can be made by mail or online. Only one name can be submitted per form. 

Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. Dec. 1, 2025.
