USCA free lecture series returns to downtown Aiken

AIKEN, S.C.—Aiken in the Alley – a free lecture series hosted by the University of South Carolina Aiken’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences – returns 11 a.m. Thursday, August 28. Special to the series this year is a Constitution Week event titled, “South Carolina Supreme Court Cases that Shaped the Nation.”
“Every year, USCA’s history and political science faculty celebrate the Constitution,” said Elizabeth Georgian, professor of History. “This year, we’re excited to feature South Carolina’s unique role in shaping American Constitutional Law.”
Aiken in the Alley is a series of lectures, conversations, and music from USCA faculty members at 11 a.m. on select Thursdays from Aug. 28 to Dec. 4 at 139 Newberry St. SW. Presentations are free and open to the public.
This fall, faculty from various disciplines will present, including History, Music, Theatre, and Communication and Emerging Media.
