USCA recently launched a new free food and necessities program for students, expanding the longstanding Blessing Box initiative on campus.

Blessing Boxes, like the one at the university, are located throughout Aiken. Generous citizens drop off non-perishable items, and those who can benefit take what they need.

USCA’s newly launched IMPACT Food Pantry Program will continue to help provide essential food items and basic necessities for students. Interested students can submit a  request form

“IMPACT aims to reduce barriers and help ensure all students have the support necessary to succeed both academically and personally,” said Abbey Walton, assistant director of student leadership and engagement.

“Programs like this reflect the strength of our campus community and our commitment to supporting one another.”

Student Life, located in the Dr. Robert E. Alexander Student Activities Center, accepts donations for IMPACT. High-demand items include shelf-stable, easy-to-prepare foods such as quick meals, canned proteins, grains, breakfast items, and snacks that students can make with limited kitchen access. Canned fruits and vegetables, beverages and basic cooking essentials are needed. In addition to food, personal hygiene items, laundry supplies, and paper goods are requested.

“We are grateful to everyone who supports the well-being and success of our students,” said Walton, Class of ’24.
